KEFALONIA REVIEW

Fitness / Travel

Kefaloia is the largest of the Ionian Islands in western Greece. With tempertaures staying in the mid 20’s until late October its the perfect location for a last minute getaway.

Areas to explore

Skala

For an endless sandy beach stretching for miles and hidden coves, Skala is the place to stay. This area of Kefalonia has accommodation to suit all budgets.

Restaurants and bars are located in the small town with Captains Bar being my favourite for an evening cocktail. For the most amazing Greek food Mikelatos is the place to go. Make sure to book in the day time as this restaurant is the best in town and is always busy.

If you venture out of town along the main road heading North, you will come across a handful of beautiful coves which are pefect for swimming and sunbathing.

Myrtos beach

One of Greeces most famous beach is Mytros beach (Myrtos has been voted 12 times the best Greek beach) located in the North West of the island. Myrtos beach lies between the feet of two mountains, Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros.

Fiskado

Fiskado is a village located in the most northern point of the island. Fiskardo and the forest in the surrounding area have been declared areas of great natural beauty and are protected under Greek law. Fiskado is the perfect place to visit in the day and walk along the harbour and relax in the chic cafes. You can even visit in the evening and dine in the most amazing resturants.
